Life at Glen Ridge is an integral part of the program and is managed by the students and the faculty. Students are responsible for independently waking, showering, dressing, and maintaining an organized clean bedroom, in addition to meeting dress standards for the academic and after-school programs. Glen Ridge students work collaboratively to maintain a comfortable and pleasing living environment. They eat their meals in the main dining room at Glenholme and attend school there as well. Students plan and develop a daily schedule and independently complete homework. They also follow set guidelines for computer use, television, movies, and video games.
Glen Ridge students are expected to demonstrate consistent behaviors that reflect Glenholme’s values through their Honor Code. Courtesy and respect for self and others is expected and necessary for students to build upon the developmental objectives of the program. A peer review process with guidance from the boarding staff provides students with feedback and problem solving recommendations to resolve conflict situations. If behavior continues to be inappropriate, the Dean of Students intervenes and makes appropriate recommendations for resolution.
