Prom: An incredible experience

Stretch limos, lights and nobility say it all. It is prom, one of the most exciting nights of the school year. Glenholme prom participants began their magical evening of Saturday, June 12 with a pre-prom reception in the Glenholme Music Room complete with parents and pizazz befitting Hollywood celebrity. The lovely reception provided a wonderful opportunity to see the spectacular couples and classmates in their formal attire of dapper tuxedos and glamorous gowns, snap fabulous keepsake snapshots, and wave a fond farewell as students were whisked away in the awaiting limousine.

Their destination, the Washington Club, was transformed into a "Midsummer Night's Dream." Adorned with decorations of fabulous fabrics that flowed from the walls, flowers atop the tables and vines which draped an arbor fulfilled everyone’s fantasy. The twenty-three prom participants enjoyed a marvelous meal, music and merriment late into the evening. A short post-prom gathering at Glenholme gave everyone a wonderful opportunity to relish the events of the evening before heading off to a blissful night's sleep.

Prom is an important rite of passage as it plays an integral part of the high school experience and fulfills many memorable moments of youth. A tradition of schools around the world, prom is the first social event of a young adult, a significant picture-taking opportunity, and a fundamental step into the social world of adulthood. Glenholme's event delivered an incredible experience for the participants in safe, entertaining surroundings for the school's seniors and their junior guests.
