The Center for the Arts: A sight to see

Majestically situated in a prominent location on campus, the Center for the Arts is truly a sight to see. The east edge of the Glenholme campus is filled with the near-daily sounds of construction, realizing the dream for students of the Glenholme School to be practicing and performing in a truly authentic theater setting only the Arts Center can provide.

The Center for the Arts is essential to the mission of the Glenholme School Arts Program, which is to make the arts a vital, effective and ongoing part of every student’s life. Linked to the Positive Behavioral Supports, the arts program is designed to impact positively on each individual in both artistic skills and social competencies that will assist them in mastering their treatment plan goals and lead them to a brighter future.

Students experience the life changing power of the arts when they engage in art, music and drama and Glenholme students are anticipating the many opportunities the Center for the Arts will afford them. Once complete, the regular arts events including vocal recitals, the highly anticipated Cocoa Café, art exhibitions, and the growing summer musical production will move from their cramped quarters dispersed about campus into this authentic theater arts setting. The Center for the Arts, conveniently situated on the east side of campus is the ideal location for community programs.

The success of Glenholme’s sixth annual Parents’ Weekend, the school’s largest fund raising event, has boosted the Center for the Arts Campaign significantly. With the campaign goal looming closer, the fundraising efforts for the final phase of construction continue with unparalleled passion.
