Glenholme celebrates Parents' Weekend

The weekend of May 2-4, Glenholme celebrated its annual Parents' Weekend and it would be no stretch to say that a great time was had by all.

The weekend kicked off with a bang Friday afternoon when the chorus performed a concert featuring five outstanding medleys of Broadway showtunes, conducted by Mr. Delong and accompanied by Mr. Toy on piano. The group garnered two standing ovations for their entertaining and talented display.

Following the performance, Ms. Campbell and the Student Committee unveiled the Glenholme Honor Code Plaque outside the schoolhouse. From there, everyone adjourned to a reception in the Music Room where Ms. Rzepecki and Ms. Rubenzahl put on an amazing display of student art projects.

The weather held up and the fun continued on Saturday, including actvities such as softball, basketball, soccer, the rock wall and bungee run, horseback riding, go-kart and ropes course challenges, the Segway obstacle course, and the gladiator joust.

Saturday night the campus was alive with excitement, beginning with a raffle in the big tent. Fifty prizes were given away at random: everything from Frisbee Golf games with staff to homemade baked goods and gift cards.

While parents enjoyed dinner at the the Heritage Hotel, students enjoyed a catered Italian feast in the Dining Hall. Students then took part in a real auction complete with competitive bidding and teamwork for big prizes including everything from homemade meals made by staff members, to off-campus trips.

When all the prizes were won, the students headed to the dining hall, which had been transformed with decorations and a live DJ, to dance the night away and enjoy wonderful snacks prepared by the kitchen.

Thanks to all of the staff who helped with the planning, preparation, chaperoning and the cleaning up afterward. This may have been the best Parents' Weekend yet!
