Surprise Helicopter Visit Kicks Off Summer Camp "Color War"
On Tuesday, August 7, Glenholme officially began this year's Color War with a surprise helicopter visit.
Students gathered just in time to witness the helicopter land on the soccer field. Pausing to scoop up Glenholme Executive Director Gary Fitzherbert, the helicopter took off again, and students watched in awe as it flew around the school campus.
Just when the excitement was at its peak, two skydivers jumped from the chopper, one trailing ribbon, the other a plume of purple smoke. Students clapped and cheered as the divers glided to a safe landing, inches from where the helicopter had first taken off.
Once Fitzherbert was also safely on land again, Center Director Maryann Campbell also got in on the fun, taking her own spin in the helicopter.
In the midst of all the activity, Ms. Halford and Ms. Lawson held up yellow and blue signs, and began the Color War chant, officially beginning the Color War for this year's summer camp.
