Glenholme Student Gets Involved in "A Bear Affair"
The summer and fall of 2007 is bringing bears of all sizes and designs to the streets of Northwest Connecticut. "A Bear Affair" public art project is a collaboration of five regional organizations: the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council, LARC, the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, the Tri-State Chamber Foundation, and Winsted Health Center Foundation, all working to bring together artistic and business communities and animal lovers.
The bears are made from a fiberglass-polyester resin mix that is strong enough to withstand normal wear and tear. The outer surface is primed white and then given to artists to create their masterpieces.
Glenholme's own Brett B. will be a featured artist of one of the bears, sponsored by The White Art Gallery of Lakeville, Conn. Stay tuned for more details and information on the whereabouts of the bear. |
