Glenholme Welcomes Egg-Hunters

The Glenholme School hosted their tenth annual Easter Egg Hunt for over 200 community members residing in or around Washington on Saturday, March 26.

The attending guests participated in an egg and candy hunt in the garden field with special areas designated for each age group so all children had fun. The morning included picture taking with the Easter Bunny and an array of other entertaining activities with Washington’s Boy Scout Troop 487.

The Glenholme’s Community Service Program hosts this event each year and encourages attending children to bring a canned food item for donation to area food banks. This year, the Easter Egg Hunt was sponsored by the following community minded business partners: Northwest Lumber, Dolce Heritage, Ericson Agency, Robertson's Jewelers, Marandola Fuel Service, Washington Food Market and Liquor Store, and Southworth's.

Each year, the teachers, staff and students of The Glenholme School help to plan this event. It is a wonderful opportunity for the students to provide for and interact with their local community. Each cottage is given a specific responsibility for the Easter Egg Hunt. These responsibilities range from filling over 1,000 plastic eggs with candy, making posters, making Easter bags for kids to collect their eggs in, and volunteering at the event.
