Age Differences Dissolve when Sincerity is the Motivating
Force
WASHINGTON, CT (October 5, 2004) - Many say it is the
most defining moment of their adolescent life, the Senior
Prom. The New Milford residents of the Butter Book Hill Apartments
and Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center had
the opportunity to recreate that special day. Glenholme brought
new color to faded memories by providing the residents with
their all time favorite music hits and dancing when its students
hosted a Senior Citizen Dance on Thursday, September 23 from
4-6 p.m.

Glenholme students had their hard work and preparation rewarded
when two generations fused on a very special afternoon. Glenholme's
six-member student dance committee met each week for the past three
months to tackle the full responsibilities that come with planning
the event. The afternoon's theme, "Classy New York - A Night
with Gershwin" encircled guests with the glamour and glitter
of New York City. While enjoying each other's company, two different
generations came together to share stories and learn new moves -
from today's hip-hop dance to the jitterbug.
This year, the senior dance was generously sponsored by the following
community minded business partners: Northwest Lumber, Dolce Heritage,
Ericson Agency, Robertson's Jewelers, Marandola Fuel Service, Washington
Food Market and Liquor Store, Southworth's Dodge and Chrysler and
Thomasville Home Furnishings.
This event has become a beloved tradition among Glenholme students,
Candlewood Valley and Butter Brook Hill residents. The experience
was remarkable for the students of Glenholme and each individual
witnessed how much happiness they can bring to other's lives with
a single effort.
