Washington,CT ... Around the Devereux Glenholme campus in the Springtime, there are volleyballs spiked, soccer balls kicked into the net, and the cracks of bats echoing all the way from the softball diamond to the tennis courts where Glenholme athletes steadily hold their tennis racquets to square off a serve.

The Devereux Glenholme School Sports Banquet, held on April 25, honored forty students who worked as team players and were rewarded sports trophies for jobs well done.

The Devereux Glenholme sports program consists of fall soccer, winter Junior Varsity Basketball, winter Varsity Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Junior Varsity Baseball, and boys and girls Varsity Softball.

Parents and staff were invited to attend the Fourth Annual Sports Banquet. The evening began in the dining hall, decorated in the Glenholme Grizzlies school colors of blue and white. Glenholme chefs, Brian Turner and Elmer Odell prepared a delicious array of buffet foods that featured
steak, baked potatoes, hot wings, tortilla baskets, shrimp cocktails, stuffed chicken, green beans, and fruit punch. Dinner was followed with desserts of chocolate cake and cheesecake.

Following dinner, parents, staff and athletes headed to the DTRC Conference Room at seven o'clock where special coaches awards were presented. Athletes recognized were Jarad K., Matt K., Adrian L., Elena S., Matt T., Adam G., Keith M., Rob D., Jeff T., Andrea R., Ben G., and Matt C. This group took home trophies for most improved, dedicated, and outstanding athletes.
"We had a really good year with a group of core players," said Lyn Misenis, all-round sports coach who is in her fourteenth year at Devereux Glenholme. "They stepped up to do what needed to be done." continued Coach Misenis. "It's going to hurt when these guys go, since they are players no coach could do without."
