Devereux Glenholme Students Share the Warmth During "The Month of Warm Giving."

Washington, CT . . . The Student Leadership members of Devereux Glenholme School have designated December as "The Month of Warm Giving." One aspect of this label involves the annual Mitten Tree.

Every December for the past five years, faculty and staff have dropped off hats, mittens, gloves and scarves at the festively decorated tree. Student members of the Community Service program, led by Coordinator Nicole Groody, collect the donations and prepare them for delivery to Waterbury's Driggs School.

Sharing the warmth of the holiday season makes a difference for the children at Driggs. The atmosphere of giving is nothing new at Devereux Glenholme. The consistency of educating students in the caring and responsibility involved in giving to others is the foundation of an active Community Service program. A regular awareness of those in need - not only during the holidays - but every day throughout the year enables students to shape a lifestyle of commitment to others.

Devereux Glenholme is a specialized boarding school that provides a therapeutic program and learning environment to address varying levels of academic, social and emotional development in boys and girls ages 5-18.

Anyone wishing to assist the Devereux Glenholme students in sharing the warmth with the children of Driggs School can call Ms. Groody at Devereux Glenholme, 860-868-7377
