Washington,CT ... Two representatives of Devereux Glenholme, Washington, CT will visit the Brookfield Rotary on November 20 to discuss the school's approach to character education for schools, homes, businesses and communities.

Mary Guilfoile, Director of Training, and Richard Sears, Director of Development, will discuss how "Communities of Character" provides a foundation of ethics for the entire school community.

Glenholme is a residential program providing a unique learning environment for children with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. Communities of Character was developed, initially, as a model program within the school. Over the past five years thousands of parents, teachers, business managers and employees have attended character education training either at Glenholme or on site.

The school's Community Service Program has received awards from America's Promise as a Teaching Example, from Governor John G. Rowland's Challenge to Educational Citizenship Award, and a Promising Practices Citation from the Character Education Partnership.

Devereux Glenholme is part of The Devereux Foundation, a national organization with centers in 12 states and the District of Columbia. For more information about the school, please visit the website at www.theglenholmeschool.org or call (860) 868-7377.
