IMMEDIATE RELEASE July, 2000 Washington, CT... The Glenholme School, a Center of The Devereux Foundation, has moved forward with plans for a fine arts curriculum fully integrated into the life of the school. Theater and visual arts have already become accessible to all the children on campus. Piano and voice lessons are provided through New Fairfield resident Lori Volpe. Now, with the addition of Robert Wyatt, an accomplished concert pianist and music educator from Washington, D.C., Glenholme will develop a comprehensive instrumental music program. Because many of the students don't have instruments and the program will be available to everyone, Mr. Wyatt has issued a plea to the community to dust off old instruments stored in the attic or closet and donate them to the school. "Any instrument that works will gladly be accepted for our new music program -- violins, flutes, drums, pianos, guitars -- you name it, we need it," Mr. Wyatt said. Donations can be left with the main office, or if pick-up is necessary, call (860) 868-7377. All donations are tax deductible. Even more important Mr. Wyatt added, "Instruments come alive when played by eager young fingers; transform yours today". |
