IMMEDIATE RELEASE April, 2000 Washington, CT ... Devereux Glenholme in Washington, Conn. was honored to be selected by the Character Education Partnership as one of 21 semi-finalists for the national schools of Character Awards. This is a collaborative project of the Character Education Partnership and the Center for the Advancement of Ethics and Character at Boston University. Site visitors concluded the process of evaluation and selection on March 28 when they met with administrators, teachers, and students on the campus of the Glenholme School. This is a prestigious award given to ten schools nationally. Winners receive $2,000 and are profiled in the annual CEP National Schools publication. Glenholme's successful Communities of Character program has allowed the school to thrive and grow with a vision for the future. All aspects of school life are integrated into this concept of character education. Being selected as a semi-finalist in the "National Schools of Character" award is an honor, but also confirms that Communities of Character is an exemplary program. |
