IMMEDIATE RELEASE September, 2000 Washington,CT ... Devereux Glenholme, Washington, Conn., recently received a grant for $3,500 from The Waterbury Foundation to pay for the second annual Summer Arts Adventure. Nearly 40 children from Washington and surrounding communities enjoyed the camp which featured drama workshops, cartooning and other fine arts. The Arts Adventure took place in the school's Art Barn, adjacent to the Japanese Gardens, and the children used the natural landscape for both theater practice and exercises in painting, drawing and sculpture. Guest artists visited each week and the children presented a final theater production to their parents, neighbors and friends. The support of the Waterbury Foundation enabled the school to promote the summer camp to a much wider audience and introduce new activities. Devereux Glenholme is part of Devereux Foundation, a national organization located in 13 states and Washington, D.C. The Washington campus houses nearly 100 students, from 5 to 16 years of age, in a year-round academic program.
