Several members of Yale's improv comedy group, Just Add Water, mixed things up at Glenholme. The group, composed of some of the funniest and most daring undergraduates, created scenes, stories and even songs for an unbelievably rewarding stage performance on Wednesday, April 20. The improvisors relied heavily on audience suggestions in order to whip up seriously entertaining segments on the spot.
After an hour of captivating comedy encompassing short-form, long-form and musical improv, the five members of JAW provided a workshop for the students of the Glenholme Improv Troup. It was evident each member takes their craft seriously and has a high level of professionalism, which they instilled in the workshop participants. Their intelligent humor and inventive scene creation, both in the performance and the workshop, were entertaining and engaging. A testament to their history.
Just Add Water has truly funny roots; created in 1986 by Steve Bodow, who some 20 years later would become the head writer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Other alums have gone on to win Emmys, Golden Globes and Tonys. Since its founding, JAW has performed in venues from New York City to California and even Hawaii. Now Just Add Water can add The Glenholme School to their many exciting performance locations. |
