In joyful celebration of the holidays, the Glenholme Chorus and the Shepaug Strings Ensemble joined together on Wednesday, December 6, 2011 to perform a sensational holiday concert for students, families, friends, and staff in the Glenholme Center for the Arts.
The near 60-minute performance opened with an instrumental segment by the Shepaug Strings Ensemble, during which the ten member orchestra – comprised of violin, viola, cello, and bass players – performed three movements of Arcangelo Corelli’s Christmas Concerto. After the Strings Ensemble accompanied the thirty-member Glenholme Chorus for five traditional holiday songs, including a fun-filled sing-along with the audience, the Chorus performed four songs on their own, each highlighting one of the many holidays celebrated during the season. Enhanced by the impressive acoustics of The Center for the Arts, the sound of strings and voices filled the room, enveloping the audience in holiday warmth, excitement, and cheer. |

| In its second year, the partnership between The Glenholme School and Shepaug has proven to be a huge success, resulting in another exceptional holiday concert in The Center for the Arts. Glenholme prides itself on having a strong Arts program, and has made it a priority to collaborate with other schools and organizations in the community. By performing with students from other schools, Glenholme students learn positive ways to communicate and work together, make new friends, and develop an appreciation for others’ talents and abilities. |
