Glenholme Idol Excitement Continues To Build!

Audience participation and excitement were at an all-time high during Round Three of Glenholme Idol on Thursday, December 1st in the Glenholme Center for the Arts. Seven talented group and solo acts performed their best “One Hit Wonders” for two staff  judges and the head student judge, cheered on by an enthusiastic audience of students and staff. To increase audience input a student from each cottage also scored the acts, and the audience and judge scores were combined to determine which acts would make it to the next round.
At the end of this triple elimination round, only four acts remained. A big congratulations to the two single acts and two group acts who will be competing in Round Four!
In the words of Matt DeLong, Glenholme’s Arts Director, activities such as Glenholme Idol allow special needs students ”to come to know themselves better, to step outside of themselves to look back inside, and to develop social skills that will help them to build safe and healthy relationships with themselves, with their environment, and ultimately, with others. At Glenholme, artistic expression is embraced, respected, and nurtured. Students may take chances, learn, and grow in a safe and supportive arena, where their creative efforts and successes are actively celebrated.
