Fun And Games At The Holiday Social!

On December 15, Glenholme students came together to celebrate the season with music and merriment at the annual Holiday Social. Early in the evening, students decorated gingerbread cookies, made candy cane reindeer, and played holiday-themed games, such as Driedel, limbo, musical chairs, and a candy cane toss. Afterwards, the older students enjoyed a night of dancing, great fun, and festive games, while student DJs mixed an assortment of dance, pop, rock, hip-hop, and holiday tunes.

The Holiday Social allows students to take a break from the academic rigors of the school year in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Community-building events are vital to the social and emotional development of students with special needs - students practice initiating and maintaining conversations, interpreting body language, waiting their turn, and trying new things… all the while having fun! Scheduled to occur regularly throughout the year, these social events create a positive environment, strengthen friendships, and foster a sense of school spirit and community.
