The holiday season is a time for helping others, spreading cheer, and giving back to the community. This December, students and staff at The Glenholme School got in the holiday spirit by giving to a local family during the school’s annual Adopt-a-Family event. With the help of the Washington Town Hall, The Glenholme School collected gifts for a family of six from the Washington/New Preston area – the same family the school sponsored in 2010. |

Over a period of a few short weeks, the Glenholme community worked diligently to fill the local family’s holiday wish-list. Staff members generously donated countless thoughtful items, while students solicited contributions and sold tickets across campus for a special faculty-organized raffle - the proceeds of which were used to buy gift cards to the family’s favorite stores. The grand assortment of presents was then delivered to the Town Hall on Friday, December 16. |

| Now in it’s forth year, the Adopt-a-Family event has become an important holiday tradition for the students and staff of The Glenholme School. By participating in community service, students practice important character values, gain new perspectives, and experience personal and social growth. |

| One Glenholme student explained, “By giving to the community, I’ve learned what it means to be a part of something bigger than myself.” |
