Red Nose Day a Success at Glenhome!

Globally we donated $206 through the purchase of the red noses, red nose day pins and bracelets at Walgreens. This goes to the comic relief fund that addresses childhood hunger, lack of housing, and lack of medical care.  In addition we raised $1,000, which was used to buy food for a local food bank.

Special thanks have to go out to a couple of people who really went above and beyond by coordinating and planning all the events that we under took.   Laurie Lichaj and Lily Burstiner planned and proposed the events and then did the follow through.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

After delivering the food to the food bank the director of Social Services of New Milford, called the school and had kind words for our students and staff. She was delighted at the wonderful donation of food and after looking more closely at the items that were specifically selected, she said, “This is an absolutely amazing donation of food and we appreciate all your efforts and that we were thinking of them.”

“Thank you for all the team work this year for our Red Nose Day donations, raising student awareness of the impact they can have on the community and the follow through of everyone involved!”
– Ms. Burstiner

“Thanks to everyone for donating- everyone’s contribution allowed for us to have a huge impact on hungry children and families in the New Milford area.  It’s great to work with such an amazing and amazingly generous group of people.”
