Glenholme is excited to announce its second annual 5K Run for Autism on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 10:00am in Steep Rock Preservation, 2 Tunnel Road, Washington Depot.
Pre-race registration is $20. Race day registration is $25 and will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Prizes will be given for all divisions and special awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers.
The course is a flat, fast 5K route on a country dirt road through the rugged beauty of Steep Rock Preservation, a bucolic protected preserve that is divided by the Shepaug River. The out and back course hugs the river the entire way. Pooches are welcome participants.
It has been reported that 1 in 68 children have been identified with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges.
This is your chance to support families and individuals afflicted with autism, an often misunderstood condition.
The proceeds will support Glenholme’s academic innovations and expand therapeutic programs.
